I feel pretty.

We pre-gamed yesterday.  We were heading to the nation’s capital, and we needed to look JUST RIGHT.

And so we met yesterday morning at Aqua Aveda Salon on Anna Maria Island.  Jane and Patty’s niece, Ali,  is the proprietor and we were very well taken care of…

Stephanie was in charge of the pedicures, and we filled her in on the purpose of our upcoming trip.    Her father, Ed Gemperline, died nine years ago from Pancreatic Cancer and she told us to shower our Patty with love…and we will…

In the picture on the left our Janey is pictured with Stephanie.  On the right Stephanie holds a picture of her father.

You may remember that Jane is the chair of our Apparel Committee and as such has full responsibility for the way we look at all times.   This is a dream job, obviously, because we always look fantastic, but even we needed to step up our appearance for our important work in D.C.  We want to encourage lawmakers to vote in favor of increased funding of Pancreatic Cancer Research.  And we want it done now.

We needed to be fully outfitted in purple from head to toe.  Literally.  Purple is the cancer awareness color designated for Pancreatic Cancer.  It was time for purple nail polish and purple hair extensions…And for Patty it was time for purple hair

For tomorrow we march on Washington!

More funding for Pancreatic Cancer research!

I feel pretty sure we’ll succeed.

You know we always look for SIGNS, and how could we be surprised when one of the magazines in the spa had a Callaghan Tire advertisement?

I Feel Pretty

—Leonard Bernstein

I feel pretty
Oh, so pretty
I feel pretty and witty and bright!
And I pity
Any girl who isn’t me tonight
I feel charming
Oh, so charming
It’s alarming how charming I feel!
And so pretty
That I hardly can believe I’m real
See the pretty girl in that mirror there
Who can that attractive girl be?
Such a pretty face
Such a pretty dress
Such a pretty smile
Such a pretty me!
